Requirements: Online application including essay question, personal statement, and translation of passage, two letters of reference from faculty, volunteer or work, and official transcript (GPA of 2.8 or above).

Eligibility requirements

12th-grade and college Spanish-speaking students (18 years of age or older), who are interested in exploring a career in pharmacy. You do not need to be a resident of Virginia to participate; distance learning options are available.  Minimum GPA requirement of 2.8.

Program description

Compromiso, Valores, Servicio, is a year-long pathway program offered to college-level Spanish speaking students who are interested in serving as a member of a healthcare team. The program offers students the opportunity to serve as an interpreter while exploring a career in Pharmacy. Participants meet for virtual sessions to develop clinical skills, learn about the pharmacy profession, and prepare for virtual shadowing opportunities. Each participant will receive $200 per semester to cover any program costs.
