Eligibility requirements
Richmond and Henrico Public School students in grades six, seven and eight. For the Spring 2020 Semester, HCQ will coordinate with the following schools: Franklin Military Academy, Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, John Rolfe Middle School, and Douglas L. Wilder Middle School.
Program description
HCQ provides middle school students with early exposure to health care careers in the form of a one-day field trip. Participants travel through VCU’s Health Campus for two and a half hours to learn about health care careers from professionals and engage in hands-on activities. Sixth-grade students explore Dentistry and Medicine, seventh-grade students explore Nursing and Pharmacy and eighth-grade students explore Allied Health careers.
Dates
Weekdays in the Fall (August - December) and Spring (January - May).
Location
Various VCU Health Campus academic buildings.
