Dental Careers Exploration

Eligibility requirements

Dental Careers Exploration is a summer program for Richmond area high school students who are interested in exploring a career in dentistry through interactive workshops and lab activities. 

GPA requirement: 3.0 or above. All applicants must have U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

All students must have completed 9th grade by the time the program begins to be eligible for this summer program. At the start of the program, each student should be between a rising 10th grader and a graduating senior. No applicant below or above the specified grade specifications will be considered.

Program description

DCE is a five-day summer program where participants explore dentistry as a health care profession. 

Transportation and parking are not provided by the program.

Any materials required to participate in the program will be provided. Commitment to full attendance, including an orientation session and closing event, is required to participate.

The program is FREE and lunch is provided.

Learn about the educational requirements and job duties of each dental professional (dental hygienist, general dentist, and dental specialists)  - Lab activities - tooth carving, dental impressions, suturing, digital dentistry, and MORE!
