VCU's Diversity P.A.T.H.S. Programs
VCU's Diversity P.A.T.H.S. features programs and initiatives to support you in your journey toward a healthcare career. No matter where you are in your academic career, there are pathway programs from middle school through the post-baccalaureate level to help you.
While each program has its own distinct goals and benefits, all pathway programs aim to:
- Encourage students to explore career opportunities within the profession of healthcare,
- Provide students with access to academic and social resources that contribute to their success in preparation for health professions/graduate school admissions, and
- Connect students with a network of health care providers and community partners who support our mission.
Considering a VCU P.A.T.H.S. program? Programs are listed by current grade level and categorized by academic year and summer opportunities. All programs are subject to change if necessary and/or at the discretion of their respective coordinating body.
Middle School
Middle school students are exposed to an assortment of occupations within the field of healthcare, in addition to a variety of academic programs offered at VCU. Middle school programs include lab field trips, pathway events, and summer exploration programs.
High School
High school students are offered a variety of college preparation, health career exposure and exploration programs. High school programs range from academic-year programs and initiatives in select public schools to afterschool and summer programs that are open to students across the RVA.
College
College students are provided strategic programs supporting first-year math and science courses, exposure to a variety of health professions degrees including undergraduate programs and pre-professional health preparation. College programs include a first-year living-learning community, VCU events, and other summer enrichment programs.
